I got a great tip from Mark over at the Westheimer Bike Barn that has worked for me; he said that an “old timer” once told him…before you put your wool socks on, get some antiperspirant and slather all over your feet – real good – especially between your toes; then rub into your hands whatever is left over. The idea is that this will prevent your feet and hands from sweating (and effectively cooling off) for the first 5-10 miles while you bring up your core temperature. This tip has served me well – give it a try and let me know how it works for you. Please note that you should not use just a deodorant – unless you want good smelling cold hands and feet!
